Farécla G360 - Your Questions Answered

Why are bodyshops so enthusiastic about the G360 System?

Most shops that have used the G360 system have found how super fast and super easy it is to use. And they also confirm that they don’t need the P3000 discs – the expensive P3000 discs - which is a good saving in product and time.

Does the G360 System offer benefits to the operator?

Yes it definitely does. For a start he needs one less tool – he doesn’t need a Dual Action sander. Less sanding also means less hand-arm vibration which is good. It does not make the work area larger; when you sand you always make the work area larger so that’s a good thing. And the last thing that really helps a painter is that it’s a transparent film so you can see that the P1500 scratches have been removed whereas when you P3000 P1500 scratches you obliterate them and they are impossible to see anymore even though they may still be there. This really all adds up to being almost no reworks whatsoever. The G360 product is permanent, has no fillers – which you can easily see if you degrease the work after you have finished.

What about the time factor? It says ‘super fast’ on the labels

Well, yes In G360 you have a very fast compound which contains Engineered Abrasive Technology developed especially to work with the NEW G Mop Super High Cut Pad which is also fast – so you put the pair of them together and you have a Super Fast System.

Super High Cut? Is it too aggressive on fresh paint?

No - on the contrary – the system runs very cool which is excellent for fresh paint but it does have a very high cut which is also really, really good on long cured paints and OEM paints.

How can the G360 Compound cut so fast and still give a great finish?

Well that’s through the magic of Engineered Abrasive Technology but I can’t tell you much about that otherwise they’ll hunt me down and kill me.

Is there anything different about how you use the products?

Yes – one of the really nice things about the product is that you need almost no pressure on the polisher. It works best with very, very little pressure also a very slight angle on the applicator not a steep angle like this but just a very, very shallow angle makes it run really nicely. Speed is OK as well – we suggest a speed of around 1500 RPM for the main polishing. You can go a little bit above that; I quite like 1800 RPM. When you get past the cutting stage and you want to flatten out the applicator slow the machine down and go for a bit of a finish. The other good thing to remember is spur the pad frequently – keeps it working at its optimum efficiency. After you have done that stage you move onto the yellow pad which you use much flatter and with very low pressure again which is really, really easy to use.

Do I need to use the G Mop Super High Cut Pad on every job?

No – definitely not. You don’t need it for blends and if you are just doing little P2000 or P2500 de-nibs you don’t need it for that so just use the yellow applicator with the G360 compound for an impressive, speedy finish with good gloss.

Why is the G360 system in kit form?

Well apart from the flexible backing pad which is not a consumable, all three elements for a great finish from P1500 are included in the box. Also a process chart is in the box.

Is the G Mop Flexible Back Plate important?

Yes I would say that the Flexible Back Plate is an integral part of the system I would say if you are buying the kit you should definitely buy the Flexible Back Plate. What it does for you is it allows those very flexible pads to ride swages and offer their maximum flexibility and it also means that you get the most efficient way to get a hologram free finish is by using the flexible backing plate with the applicators.

What can you tell us about the G360 Finish Kit?

The G360 Finish Kit is a NEW and a significant advance on our previous offering in this area.

It’s excellent for high gloss finish on a black car or a dark colour car for the ultimate gloss and very fast clean up

Do I need to use the G360 Finish on every job?

Well really only you can be the judge of that I would tend to use it on darker cars for excellent gloss enhancement. What I would say though the most important thing is don’t skip Step 2 and go straight to Step 3. Either use Steps 1 and 2 on lighter colours, easier colours – or use 1, 2 and 3 but definitely don’t go from Step 1 to Step 3. This is not optimal.

Just how fast is G360?

Well there is no exact figure – it’s different in every shop and every situation. I would say that you really need to buy some to experience it first hand – you’ll be amazed.
