Farécla Bonnet Painting Competition (2018) - Meet the Finalists #3: Rhiannon
Meet the Finalists: Rhiannon Murfin
Rhiannon Murfin, 20 years old from Motofix Exeter and is a 1st year apprentice VW
HOW DID YOU GET INTO PAINTING CARS?
I thought it looked cool and did it at South Devon college for three years and then I got an apprenticeship last year with VW, through Motofix.
My Dad has always been interested in cars so I have been brought up with it.
WHAT WAS THE IDEA BEHIND YOUR DESIGN?
I thought it would be a bit different because it is meant to be an optical illusion. It was a bit challenging to get it looking right.
When I was at college for the first time I entered a bonnet competition they ran internally, I did an anchor on it, but that was the only time I have ever tried anything like this.
IF YOUR BONNET WAS THE OVERALL WINNER, HOW WOULD YOU SPEND THE £1,000 CASH PRIZE?
I haven’t thought about it, I didn’t think I would get this far.
Rhiannon's Mentor: Paul Palmer
She has done very well. Rhiannon has been with us for just over a year now and shortly after she joined started the Volkswagen Group apprenticeship. She takes a lot of pride in her work.
