Farécla Bonnet Painting Competition (2018) - Entry Form & Design Brief

Bonnet Painting Competition 2018 - Original post on Farecla website

The search is on!

The search is on to find the UK’s most talented apprentice and student painters.

Farécla is running a contest across UK and Ireland, and the winning design, matching the look and feel of the new Farécla website, will be displayed on the Farécla stand at the 2018 Advanced Engineering Show at the NEC, Birmingham on 31 October-1 November.

Competition Overview

The Bonnet Painting Competition was created to highlight and reward the amazing skills of the current crop of young painters while increasing awareness of the refinish sector to the next generation.

Entrants are tasked with designing and painting a bonnet that is in keeping with the design brief within their place of employment or education under the supervision of their mentor.

Entrants are asked to submit photos of their painted bonnet in addition to an overview of their process and products used.

Entries are then judged in a preliminary round before being shortlisted for the semi-finals and later the grand final where our expert panel of judges will decide the winning bonnet

Design Brief

Subject matter of the design is your free choice – be creative!

However the look and feel of the design must be in keeping with the imagery on the Farécla website. This means that the colours must be blacks, whites and greys and of course Farécla yellow (RAL1018, Pantone116C).

A Farécla single colour logo (in black or white) must be painted somewhere on the bonnet – as a sign-off, or headline, or even incorporated somewhere within the design itself.

The bonnet you paint must also be no wider than 1.6m and no longer than 1.6m.
