Teams G3Pro & Farécla Round 6 Preview

After five races, Team G3Pro are currently laying first in the championship and on target with our expectations for the season thanks to strong race finishes ending the half-way mark with a great point tally. However, this point haul could have been improved if it wasn’t for some bad luck at Whilton Mill costing top spot on the podium. But the team are still upbeat and fighting strong.

Barry said: “Whilton Mill for us was a turning point in the season. We’d been displaying excellent race craft and outright speed and always starting towards the front of the pack, but at Whilton Mill we were forced to start from the back of the grid in 36th place due to a technical issue with the kart. Overtaking 33 teams after a poor qualifying session and fighting back for the last place on the podium was something special for us as it felt like a win.”

Team G3Pro will continue with the current race strategy on Sunday at Buckmore Park. Matt and Barry have each claimed a pole position at Buckmore Part in the past and go very well at the Kent track. The pair are looking forward to getting into the groove quickly and hopefully power their way to another podium finish.

Meanwhile Team Farecla return to the track were they finished third during the opening round of the season only to be disqualified for being under weight (cruelly a small peace of weight ballast fell away from the kart during the team’s last stint).

Craig Luetchford said: “We go to Buckmore on Sunday and both me and Stewart fully intend to go and dominate the class, and pick up a trophy for Farecla HQ – enough said!”
