How to Restore Lightly Weathered Gelcoat

Profile 350 PREMIUM LIQUID is ideal for the restoration of lightly weathered gelcoat, or if you prefer a paste to a liquid product, you can also use Profile (300) Rapid Cut and the same method. In either case gloss level can be heightened if desired by adding a second step, polishing with Profile 700 FINISH

How to Use

    Step 1: Profile 350 PREMIUM

    Machine polish with Profile 350 PREMIUM
  • Applying polishing compound to a wool polishing pad

    Step 2: Select polishing pad

    Choose the applicator that suits the cutting speed and the desired surface quality: - Twisted Wool Compounding pad - fast cut, lower gloss, machine speed 1500-1800 rpm. - Lambs Wool pad - medium cut, medium gloss, machine speed 1500-1800 rpm - Waffle Compounding foam - slower cut, higher gloss, machine speed 800-1100 rpm
  • Machine Polishing Boat Hull

    Step 3: Work in small areas

    Work in small areas at a time, keeping the pad flat on the surface. Clean the surface, repeat if necessary.
  • Applying Polish to a Polishing Pad

    Step 4: Polishing with Profile 700 FINISH

    For increased gloss after using Profile 350 PREMIUM, polish with Profile 700 FINISH on a G Mop 8" or 6" Finishing Foam, or alternatively in 6" size only with a G3 Pro Foam Polishing Pad. Machine speed 800-1100 rpm (or for eccentric polisher 3000opm).
