BTCC Round 1 Preview

The start of the 2014 British Touring Car Championship is now here and Brands Hatch will be hosting the first three rounds this weekend. Between practices, Jack Goff was able to spare G3 Pro some time and tell us his thoughts on the upcoming season.

It only seems like yesterday that I was stood up on the podium – in the rain – at the end of the 2013 season. Now we are back at the same venue, Brands Hatch, for this year’s opening rounds.

Testing has gone well over the winter and all of the lads back at the workshop have put in long nights to get the car into shape. It’s looking really good, and as a team we have moved it forward a big step.

There are a fair few new additions to the team. I have my old Clio Cup team mate back with me, Aron Smith, plus we have team owner and driver Warren Scott with us on the grid too. I believe we have one of the strongest line ups on the grid this year; twinned with our new chief engineer, Geoff Kingston, we can really fight at the sharp end. There are also changes to the driver line up, including the return of double BTCC champion Alain Menu!

Even though testing has gone to plan, I know it will be a huge challenge this year – all of the racers are capable of winning. All in all, it should be a fantastic series for the crowds.

I would just like to thank all of my brilliant sponsors including G3 Pro for getting me out onto the grid this year.
