Frequently Asked Questions

Why a Bonnet Painting Competition?

With apprenticeships and young talent ever higher up the agenda both nationally and specifically within bodyshops – Farécla wanted to launch a competition to celebrate and reward the excellence that exists within our industry’s current crop of painters and increase awareness of the automotive refinish sector to the prospective next generation in a fun, engaging manner.

Having seen painted bonnets on display when visiting technical colleges – bonnet painting seemed like a natural fit!

Why UK Only?

Running the competition in 2018 was a lot of fun but also required a lot of careful planning to ensure we had enough resources to keep the competition running smoothly.

We have reviewed last years competition and are putting in place measures to make 2019 even better – the possibility of running the 2019 competition internationally was discussed in depth but we feel we are not yet ready to run this competition beyond UK based bodyshops/colleges/universities at this time in what promises to be a very exciting (and busy!) year for Farécla.

Never say never! Farécla hope to develop similiar competitions for international apprentices and students in the future – If you are based internationally and wish to register your interest in future competitions then sign up to our ‘Bonnet Painting Bulletin’ to be among the first to learn of any new developments.
