A little fog doesn’t do any harm…not for karting at least!
Matt, Stewart and Barry have been reflecting on a good race at one of their favourite tracks – Clay Pigeon in Dorset – which saw them move up four positions to a commendable fifth in their class!
Matt was first out on the track, and having taken part in a bit of testing the evening before, was keen to get a good position – and that’s exactly what happened! With a ninth place start, the trio were set up for the next two-or-so hours (coincidentally the second best position of the year). In the first few laps, this position was improved swiftly as he took the kart from ninth the fourth, including a great battle with the drivers in fifth and sixth place. It was soon time to changeover with Stewart, followed by Barry and for the next 90 minutes they worked hard to keep in the top five, even if the conditions were on the ‘low visibility’ side.
The great drive by all three meant they secured fifth place in their class and a well deserved place in third for the championship!
We’re sure they’ll all keep this positive experience at the forefront of their minds as they go into their next race at Whilton Mill, Northampton, in two weeks’ time. As we’re moving in the final round, we’re cheering them on for a podium finish!
